Faulconer: Greatest Composer of All Time

I think the Faulconer score for the original Z dub blows the Japanese score out of the water. The music correctly captured the intention of most of the scenes it was complementing. The only minor complaint I can think of is that there was constantly music playing, and on extreme occasions it felt unnecessary, but overall the score was truly fantastic. I even went out of my way to purchase every one of his tracks because the songs are so inspirational, and they give me mental and emotional power. I think Faulconer is possibly as revolutionary as the likes of Beethoven, Bach, or even Mozart, in fact I'd go as far as to say that he is a modern version of these composers. If you enjoy the Japanese score or disagree with me then you're factually wrong, Faulconer's is better by a grand amount.

I agree. I feel that the original score was just the complete opposite of what DBZ needed. Here is my person ranking:

Ocean Dub score > FUNimation dub score >>> Orignal Japanese score

Faucloner's score drones on and on. I like to let scenes breathe and sink in sometimes. I can't do that listening to his score.

I'm not sorry.

The lack of silence was an issue but other than that the music was revolutionary. It's amazing and I still listen to it for the gym sometimes lol

I can always go for some "Ginyu Transformation" or "Super Saiyan 3 Goku" when I'm lifting.

I have to disagree. I can listen to a few of his songs, but most of it is so one-dimensional it's almost painful.

You can never go wrong with SSJ Vegeta's theme.

Even though I pretty much exclusively watch the Japanese dub now, there are some Faulconer music that I still associate with certain parts. Like that music they play around the 25th Budokai arc, that is the music I always think of when I think of the 25th Budokai.

Also Super Boo's theme is amazing and no one will convince me otherwise.

I couldn't disagree anymore. His music too one-note and never shuts the f*** up.

Shunsuke Kikuchi's orchestrated bliss is all we need and it's a crying shame how Toei is dodging him bowadays.

They're catchy melodies, that's for sure. But better than the original ost? Naaah.

I would put his music on the same level as Kevin MacLeod's. They're good compositions, but they usually don't fit with anything.

That being said, his Cell theme is truly perfect.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.
